Jamilya, aged 10 from the UAE.
Hi! My name is Jamilya and I’m 10 years old. I’m from the UAE. My favorite day is my birthday because I’ve lots of fun then. The best birthday party was in 2009. I celebrated it in the best hotel of the UAE called Burj Al Arab. There was no music at that moment but everything was very nice and very tasty food, especially I liked my birthday cake it was shaped like a square with my last birthday photo in Jumeirah Beach Hotel. I had lots of presents, sweets and chocolate. Many people came to my birthday party: my father’s friends, the whole family and, of course, my best friend Maria. She gave me a box of Patchi sweets.
My family gave me a computer!

Whale burgers go on sale in Japan
A restaurant in Japan has added a rather unusual snack to its menu - it's selling whale burgers.
The burgers are made from minke whale and they're served in a bun at the Lucky Pierrot fast food joint.
The restaurant's manager, Miku Oh, said they were using up old whale stocks to make the burgers, so no new whales would be killed to make them.
"We get a lot of tourists here and even children who had never eaten it before said it was good," Mr Oh said.

This comes as Japan has been criticized for wanting to expand its whaling programme. But the International Whaling Commission ruled this week that Japan should cut back its whaling, not do more of it.
Whale meat used to be very common in Japan - it was part of school dinners there before a restriction on whaling was made in 1986.
"The taste and texture are somewhere between beef and fish," Mr Oh said. "Customers are looking forward to trying it."
The whale burgers cost 380 yen (£1.92.)

Interview with my Mum
By Elizabeth, aged 8
My Mum was born in Morriston, South Wales, on July 16 1959 at about 3.00pm. She has one sister and no brothers, but lots of aunties. She lived on the edge of a small village, where her dad, my grandad, was the headmaster of the local school. There were only about 35 children in the whole school. All the children spoke Welsh and my mum couldn't speak English until she was five. Now my Mum is grown up, she is a teacher too.
My Mum remembers a very important day in history, when the first man walked on the moon in 1969. It happened when she was ten. Lots of her friends came round to her house to watch it on the TV. Everybody was very excited that the moon had been walked on. As children, they thought people would be going on holiday on the moon by the year 2000. But they were wrong!
